Duties: Monitored health status of the education department animals daily to ensure optimal well-being. Ensuring that environmental parameters within animal enclosures remained within species-appropriate ranges. Prepared diets for each animal following a set schedule. Cleaning and organizing the department enclosures based on a set schedule to ensure the well-being of the animals housed there. Finally, regarding animal care, entered all relevant data into the ZIMS system.
I was also responsible for organizing camps, classes, and information booths for zoo visitors, which involved interacting with people of all ages.
Collaborated on the greenhouse phase of a doctoral research project on drought effects on tropical forests; measured weight, diameter, and density of various plant species to assess behavior under differing environmental conditions.
