My first position with Mercy was a walk-in clinic. In that role I triaged patients, performed assessments, wound care, assisted with small office procedures, drew lab, administered medications in all forms, stabilized and splinted patients’ extremities for fractures, among other nursing duties. I remained in that position for nearly four years. I switched to an office nurse role in a Primary Care clinic setting after that office closed. I switched to a fully remote position approximately 2 years after that.

For the last three years I have been in a fully remote position, working from home. I work for a 4 provider Family Medicine practice. I take care of all their needs aside from rooming their patients. I also take triage calls for multiple other Primary Care offices.

• Served as office nurse in General Surgery, obtaining vital signs, rooming and assessing patients, performing suture/staple removal, managing wound care including wound vac changes, administering medications, sterilizing instruments via cold sterilization and autoclave, handling insurance prior authorizations, and conducting medical coding over a 4-year period.
• Performed stent removal and nasal/sinus suctioning per physician orders.
