  • As the Clinic Manager, I oversee all medical services. Diagnose and treat conditions in animals. I oversee scheduling all surgeries and heartworm treatments with our contracted vets. I also answer the multiline phone system and assist potential adopters who come into the shelter. Educate adopters on the well-being of the animal and their health. I also work with the shelter vet on more serious cases that need to be addressed in a vet clinic. Trained new staff members and students doing externships with vet assisting programs on procedures as a Veterinarian Technician. I was also the Shelter Manager, as well as the Clinic Manager, for over a year. As the Shelter Manager, I oversaw the staff, any maintenance that needed to be attended to in the shelter, ordering supplies, and other responsibilities. I assisted in the hiring and firing process for employees. Gathered information for monthly board reports regarding medical issues and the shelter. Also assisted in applications, and approved and/or denied applicants for adoptions. Assisted in the adoptions of the animals and handled money exchanges. Entered medical and other important data into our software. Every weekend, I would be responsible for going to get supplies for the animals.
