Primary substance use counselor carrying caseload of 7-10 inmates, completing intakes for cognitive behavioral based 245G licensed treatment program addressing criminal conduct behavior and substance use problems. Providing twelve hours of group treatment per week, plus one hour of individual counseling per client, per week. Preparing and reviewing individualized treatment plans, providing treatment coordination services as needed including communication with probation officers, lawyers, child protective services, and family members. Completing discharge summaries in a timely manner with referrals to other programs upon client release, if appropriate. Conducting crisis intervention when necessary and advocating for client needs as they relate to the six dimensions of ASAM to support their recovery.

Collected urine samples to test for substance use. Collaborated with team members to meet daily demands and handle challenging projects. Updated records of anticipated client admissions and discharges. Facilitated and supported the recovery activities of patients. Coordinated the necessary administrative tasks related to patient care. Represented treatment staff and observed patient activity and unit functions. Administered medications to clients in recovery housing, including harm reduction medications such as Suboxone. Maintained a visible presence on the unit.
Monthly volunteer for women's prison bringing meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous to inmates both in treatment and general population. One quarterly visit to facility's Challenge Incarceration Program, facilitating AA speaker meeting.
