RESEARCH

2014-current Developing and evaluating a risk calculator for predicting clinically significant QT interval prolongation in hospital admitted patients. A prospective, observational study of QT intervals in a general hospitalized population to determine associated risk factors, stratify risk factors based on the level of risk, and finally develop and validate a tool to help determine a patient’s risk of developing QT prolongation which will help guide pharmacotherapy, electrolyte replacement, and monitoring intensity for the patient while hospitalized. Prospective, randomized trial to determine the effect of a pharmacist managed transition of care clinic for patients recently hospitalized and adherence follow up over a 6 month period. 2005-2010 Atherothrombosis Intervention in Metabolic Syndrome with low HDL/High Triglyceride and Impact on Global Health Outcomes (AIM HIGH). Co-Principal Investigator and study coordinator: Nicole Murdock. Funded by the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute. Prospective, randomized, placebo controlled lipid lowering and biomarker study for secondary prevention of coronary artery disease, cerebrovascular disease, and peripheral vascular disease. Running from 2005 to 2010.
