
Administrative Assistant
An organized and service-oriented individual experienced in assisting with daily office needs and managing general administrative activities. Responsible and accomplished in scheduling and documentation management. Polished communicator that is successful at collaborating with people of diverse backgrounds and upholding a professional office reputation.
Under the supervision of the Community Life Manager, The Community Life Coach is responsible for helping people with intellectual disabilities connect to their communities through such activities as community events / activities and volunteer opportunities. The CLC assesses skills and interests for participants, implements service plans, and facilitates the involvement within the community. The CLC assures safety in the community while securing activities that enrich the participant’s life.
Essential Job Functions:
• Identify community resources and activities pertaining to the interest and skill level of participants on their caseload.
• Facilitate the participation of participants in typical and integrated activities (those used by the general public), events and organizations in the participant’s neighborhood or local community in ways similar to others persons of the same age an interest.
• Foster connections between participants and persons without disabilities to increase social capital.
• Maintain electronic records including progress of goals identified on participant’s person-centered plan, incidents, challenges, etc.
• Accompany participants to activities, if needed, and facilitate involvement.
• Communicate progress, successes, and challenges to guardians / care providers as needed.
• Ensure personal safety of participants on caseload.
• Provide support to maintain or enhance personal independence.
• Provide attendant care and/ or other supports as necessary (i.e. personal care, medication assistance, etc.)
• Support Bethesda’s Mission, vision and Core Values while empowering each person to direct his or her own life choices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
