As a material expeditor at the Corpus Christi Army Depot (CCAD) , I functioned as a production coordinator, assigned to Avionics Electrical assembly line for the weapons system,UH-60 Blackhawk, Victor Model Aircrafts. One of my primary functions as a production coordinator is to proficiently use applications and products (SAP). The SAP software is known to CCAD and other depots as the Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) and (CAMS), Complex Assembly Manufacturing Solution. Using SAP, I perform the following duties:
Creating transfer orders and purchase orders
Goods receipting and goods issuing
Creating purchase requisitions for consumables and common hardware
Monitor shelf life material for production
Plan inventory management technique to avoid any shortages and excesses.
Forecasting the need of piece parts and hardware according to the command schedule; also use various federal logistic databases to determine the most cost efficient source of supply.
Controlling production costs using LMP transaction MIGO while maintaining the quality standards.
Analyze customer orders and establish production schedules for timely delivery while communicating to upper management of potential risks to adjust the production schedule.
Investigate production control problems, analyze root causes, and derive solutions.
Determine equipment, material and manpower requirements for each job order.
Negotiate job orders with customers based on equipment capacity and material availability.
Work with materials, manufacturing and purchasing departments in identifying and resolving production planning problems.
Track and move WIP within CAMS.
Develop process improvements for inventory, manufacturing and production control systems to meet business objectives.
Other duties/responsibilities performed as a production coordinator:
Reviewing tech manuals to ensure that the proper material/parts are purchased and issued
Maintaining hardware stock for multiple work centers
Coordinate with original equipment manufacturers (OEM) vendors for statuses on contracted parts
Develop positive relationships with staffs and customers to meet productivity goals.
Expediting aircraft parts from work center to work center, using low-lifts, fork-lifts, scooters.
Prepare material for routing and shipping; assuring material documents are accurate
Adhering to safe work environment policies and procedure; lift material up to 35 pounds without assistance
Maintaining a U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operators License
