I'm looking for a SELPA leadership position in Clinical Services to utilize and integrate my knowledge of clinical services, school counseling, and special education. I have twenty years of clinical expertise and leadership skills in guiding and utilizing research based interventions with students and families that allow me to be an ideal candidate for this position.

QUALIFICATIONS-CLINICAL EXPERIENCE

• Empathetic professional with hands-on experience providing quality psychological services to children and adults. Skilled in identifying, assessing and diagnosing mental health and emotional issues
• Clinical Supervisor to clinical interns who are completing state license requirement
• 20 years of clinical experience treating students in a school based setting with a variety of presenting challenges including; depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, attention deficit disorder, anger management, drug counseling, and parent education
• Knowledge of alternative education programs such as home hospital, independent study, virtual academy, and other school based programs to support students
• Direct experience & knowledge of special education guidelines and practices
• Provide direct mental health services to students who have an individualized educational plan receiving intense educational mental health services
• Direct experience with increasingly higher level of support systems including non-public schools, behavioral interventions, and contract agencies
• Extensively trained on providing mental health and behavioral support for students on the autism spectrum
• Expertise skills and clinically trained in Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy emphasis on strength and collaborative-based counseling to best meet the needs of the student
• Facilitate individual and group counseling in social skills and coping skills for students from K-12th grade in social emotional learning

• Experience in Medical billing and clinical records for county including treatment plans and progress notes
• Developed and co-facilitated parent trainings and district workshops in the Tri-Valley communities includes topics on; Growth Mindset, anxiety, depression, suicide, guardians of foster youth,and stress management for parents
• SELPA representative on LEA Budgeting Committee to determine use of $200k budget Advocated and obtained funding from LEA Committee for Mental Health Clinicians to use for clinical service interventions
• Coordinated the Peer Advocate Program for five years at the high school level. Responsible for overseeing the training and implementation of student outreach on campus in areas of a peer buddy program, class presentations and conflict mediation that served 2,100 students school wide.
• Facilitated Restorative Justices Practices and community circle trainings for teachers and staff to help increase student-staff connections
• Extensive knowledge in knowing how to work with at-risk youth in a school setting (including students on probation, foster care, and district expulsions)
• Team collaboration and planning for students who have an IEP, SST and 504 school meetings with school team, parents, and teachers to help deal with depression, learning disabilities, and social or emotional challenges
• Facilitate school wide bully prevention to the elementary level with education to parents, students and school staff resulting in improved school wide reporting practices for students.
• Experience as an AVID Coordinator providing support and interventions to promote college access to underrepresented and underserved student populations
