Large Group Proposal Manager

  • As a Large Group Proposal Manager, I manage the entire RFP process from start to finish. I handle all the fully insured large groups, 50+ for all the account managers and account team. I am responsible for preparing RFPs for our groups to be sent to the market with the end goal of obtaining competitive quotes and benefits, that can be compared to the group's upcoming renewals. I shop medical, dental, vision, life, and DI lines of coverage for our groups. I work closely with upper management and leadership teams as well as the carrier reps. I keep a very extensive tracking system that houses important information on the group, lines of coverages, renewal actions, commissions, enrollment, and the carriers that are being shopped. Once I send out the initial RFP request for the specific line of coverage that is being shopped, I then set up spreadsheets that will compare the group's current and renewal rates and benefits. Once competitive quotes come back in from the market, I add the competitive information to the spreadsheet and create a side-by-side comparison of the current, renewal and market competition. I deliver the RFP information in a timely manner back to the account managers and account team for review before the final presentation gets shared and reviewed by groups. The end goal is to provide competitive information back to the groups so renewal decisions can be made that best fit the group's financial needs and benefit needs.

  • As a Senior Proposal Analyst, I primarily work on all large group 50+ fully insured accounts. I handle all the RFP requests that I receive from the account managers and their team members. RFPs consist of Medical, Dental, Vision, Life and DI. I work very closely with our preferred carrier reps daily regarding the RFP's they receive from me. I am responsible for setting up all our premium summary spreadsheets to include the current and renewal plan designs and rates as well as adding any competitive quotes that we receive back from the market check. My communication is very close with the account managers during the RFP process as I provide updates to them regarding competitive quotes, declinations, or non-competitive quotes. I assist with training my coworkers on the RFP process, spreading and communication with our carrier reps as well as reviewing all their work for accuracy.
