Summary

To obtain a full-time position as a radiologic technologist with a private practice, outpatient facility, or hospital that will utilize my technological skills in radiology, as well as my administrative expertise. I would also like the opportunity to grow, learn, and cross train in other radiologic modalities, as well as be given the opportunity to learn medical assistant responsibilities; if applicable, which will enhance my professional skill set. My five-year plan reflects a growing desire to become a provider (Physician's Assistant). In the meantime, I wish to gain more meaningful work experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

  • Currently work for this non-profit organization working in general procedures radiology performing a multitude of tasks in various areas of the hospital. These responsibilities include: departmental fluoroscopy procedures, emergency department x-rays, operation of c-arms in surgical and endoscopic procedures, inpatient portable x-rays, outpatient x-rays, and breast specimen x-rays at Piper Surgical Center.
  • Operate radiologic equipment to produce diagnostic images in a hospital setting while being cognizant of pertinent patient details such as sterile techniques, contact precautions, fall risk, oxygen requirements, etc.
  • Handle private and confidential information in compliance with hospital policies and procedures/HIPAA.

  • At this position, I work with an amazing team of medical professionals performing radiographic examinations on a prestigious patient demographic including the Arizona Cardinals. I maintain the highest quality of standards and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
  • Used my knowledge to assist this practice in the establishing and opening up of a new modailty (DEXA) in the fall of 2018. I currently see the majority of patients scheduled in this modality and work to ensure its smooth operation from week to week.
  • Participate in the training of new employees, as well as implementing and maintaining quality assurance standards for the radiology department as a whole.
  • Act as an interface between the medical practice and radiology company who completes the outside reads, including the receiving of and representation of patient's reports to doctors, and the proper scheduling of exams.

  • At this position, I work with a great team of people, including one internal medicine physician and two nurse practitioners.
  • I carefully and strategically positioned patients for their annual/routine DEXA scans to determine their bone density and potential risk of osteoporotic fracture.
  • Evaluated clothing to search for and remove items from clothing that may have caused artifacts and prevented ideal diagnostic images from being obtained.
  • Determined patient's specific needs, as many of these patients were non-ambulatory or had conditions and diseases that limited their ability to complete the exam. However, through effective communication, I always made my patients feel incredibly comfortable and ultimately managed to skillfully obtain diagnostic scans in the area of interest, while keeping patients safe.
  • Increased company productivity by scanning all patients for the practice in one day, instead of two.

  • I volunteered for this hospital at its Phoenix location while it was part of IASIS Healthcare. It is now owned by Steward Healthcare. 
  • During my volunteer hours, I assist patient's and their families by greeting and directing them throughout the hospital corridors.
  • I also answer incoming phone calls and transfer these to patient's rooms and nurses stations, as well as possess a patient list which informs patient's families of their whereabouts. 
  • I also help facilitate that the hospitals' operations run more smoothly by assisting patients, visitors, and employees in any way that I can. 
  • In addition to volunteering responsibilities, I served as secretary of the Axillary Committee for the hospital for six months and was awarded Volunteer of the Quarter in the Fall of 2017.
