Results-oriented writing professional with experience preparing concise and accurate technical documents. Expert at delivering high-quality work within tight deadlines. Talented individual collaborates with cross-functional teams for accuracy and clarity of technical content. This gives the unique edge of being able to interact with individuals from a wide demographic. It allows for perspectives and solutions that surpass traditional norms and seeps into consumer insights, and persuasive metrics.
Stumbled into Proposal Writing thanks to my stints at startups, where I have always been hired as a marketing writer. My collaborations with the Business Development Teams and resultant project coordination in clients' companies resulted in many ad-hoc requests to draft responses to RFPs. It was only after moving to Canada (2020) that I started receiving independent RFP assignments. When my presentation and writing style contributed to winning accounts, I decided this could be the niche writing career I have been seeking.
My favorite part of proposal writing is the one-on-one conversational aspect with many interactions that result in ultra-tailored responses/presentations. This is where I get to employ my skills, and techniques, and design ways to present the organizational expertise and present you as a perfect strategic/creative partner. Though it was never planned that way, most of the resumes I have done are for the healthcare and educational sectors. Professionals.
Currently, I am working as a remote writer and receive my assignments from my LinkedIn and Upwork clients. Currently, I am pursuing APMP certification and am looking to rebuild my career as a proposal writer.
RECENT STINT AS A GRANT WRITER (Aug 2023 to Nov 2023)
During my dynamic three-month remote tenure as a Grant Writer with Atira Women's Resource Society, a non-profit organization in British Columbia, I passionately crafted winning proposals across multifaceted projects, showcasing my prowess in securing funding for vital initiatives. From spearheading grants for innovative housing projects to championing the causes of Indigenous communities, LGBTQ audiences, and women survivors of violence, I navigated the intricacies of diverse sectors with finesse. I was let go as they wanted to restructure the position and add more on-site responsibilities to it and I am unable to switch from remote work to on-site at this point. My strategic approach and persuasive writing not only secured substantial grants but also garnered the organization's admiration, earning me the offer of an in-house position and a standing invitation to join their team in Vancouver. Armed with a proven track record of success and the backing of glowing references, I am poised to bring my creative grant writing expertise to new challenges and make a meaningful impact in empowering communities.
