• In total, I have spent 243 hours as a student, overseeing surgery and other procedures on his patients and treating other patients one-on-one.
• Also was able to see how the MA's handled their workload with computers what it is like to be in the medical field, and what the doctor-to-patient relationship is like.
• I was also able to have hands-on experience by also assisting the doctor in various tasks, whether it be in-patient encounters or general surgery on the patients.

• Worked part time as an intramural sports referee.
• Due to the competitive nature of sports and the speed of play I had to be focused at all times in order to make the correct call.
• When players developed conflicts with my decisions I was able to calmly and rationally explain to them to solve the issue.

• Interned at primary care clinic, where I gained hands-on experience in patient care, administrative tasks, and healthcare operations.
• Assisted the physician in day-to-day activities, enhancing my understanding of primary care practices and patient interaction.

• I spent time shadowing at Central Cardiology Medical Center and observed cardiac diagnostic tests, such as echocardiograms and stress tests, to understand the assessment of heart function and health.
• I also participated in cardiac rehabilitation sessions, learning about exercise regimens and lifestyle modifications for heart health.

• While shadowing, I gained valuable insights into various aspects of radiology practice, including diagnostic imaging procedures, patient care, and teamwork dynamics in a medical setting.

• I also learned improved communication skills through interaction with healthcare professionals and patients and acquired familiarity with imaging technology and equipment used in radiology practice.

Served as a club officer for the pre-medical club, focusing on the social media aspect of the club. I have been proficient in content creation, scheduling, and engagement through this lens.

• Observed endocrinologists in clinical settings, gaining insight into diagnostic procedures, treatment strategies, and patient interactions.
• Learned about various endocrine disorders, including diabetes, thyroid disorders, adrenal diseases, and metabolic conditions.
• Shadowed healthcare professionals during patient consultations, examinations, and procedures, gaining firsthand experience in the management of endocrine conditions.
• Assisted in patient education sessions on diabetes management, including insulin administration, glucose monitoring, and lifestyle modifications.

Participated in a mission trip to Puerto Rico. While there, I was able to serve the community of Ponce by helping repair the damaged homes from the hurricane. We rebuilt homes, trimmed the landscape, and painted homes while building relationships with the locals there.

• Over the course of my high school and undergraduate education, I have explored opportunities to fulfill my desire to serve the community.
• I learned about my passion for community service when I volunteered at my local hospital in my junior year of high school.
• I was able to witness how doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers were able to work together to serve the community of patients.
• I volunteered in the NICU and post-surgery units and helped patients and their caregivers receive personal hygiene supplies such as toothbrushes and body soap.
• While volunteering at my local hospital, I realized how essential teamwork and community are in healthcare.
• I was able to better empathize and understand my local community and its needs.
• The healthcare workers I watched and assisted while volunteering were amazing role models who showcased the best ways to help their patients.
• I also participated in another volunteering opportunity at a food bank, assisting families by distributing warm meals and providing them with a safe space for communication and openness.
• My experience at this food bank also shaped my passion for helping those in need.
• These experiences while volunteering shaped my ideas of helping and providing resources to the most vulnerable among us.
