As a member of Alpha Epsilon Phi, I have the opportunity to collaborate with an incredible group of women. We all offer each other community and support in order to create an uplifting and positive environment. I also engage in the philanthropy and service aspect of my sorority by helping raise money for our two philanthropies, Sharsharet and the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
As a member of the Pre-Medical Society, I attend events dedicated to helping me prepare for a career in the medical field. These events include listening to guest speakers, group study sessions, and obtaining advice on which classes will best prepare me for the future.
I provided free tutoring to local students at the kindergarten to eitgth grade level. I coordinated with the students and their parents to schedule sessions and give feedback. Not only did I trive to make the students understand the material, but I also taught them long-term study skills and mentored them to set goals.
I've been tutoring my younger brother's friends in their classes since I was in high school. I've helped them in courses such as biology, chemistry, math, and Spanish. Since going to college, I've continued to help them succeed over zoom sessions while I'm away from home. I have also helped some of my college peers in courses such as EBIO 1010 and CELL 1030.
I interned at AZ Multicare, which is a chiropractic and overall wellness practice. I was lucky enough to observe Dr. Robinson's appointments and take notes for him, and throughout this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of nutrition, musculature, and the skeleton.
As the Health and Wellness chair of my sorority, I helped plan events to help the members feel good about themselves both mentally and physically. I planned exercise sessions and events to help the members relax and destress.
As a sales associte at Floo-id Yoga, I helped new members obtain memberships by reching out to potential clients based on inquiries. I also helped current clients with questions and helped them to schedule yoga and pilates sessions. I was responsible for opening and closing the studio and making sure the clients had a great experience.
