Nirmal Prasad Neupane, MD

Pioneered the cardiac MRI service in Nepal and established the country's first comprehensive cardiothoracic imaging unit, achieving formal accreditation and significantly enhancing national diagnostic capabilities. Currently serves as Chair of the Department of Radiology at Shahid Gangalal National Heart Centre in Kathmandu, recognized for a steadfast commitment to integrity, passion, and innovation that resonates with residents, fellows, and colleagues. A dedicated lifelong academician and learner, actively leading cardiac radiology research initiatives in Nepal, driving advancements in the field while fostering a culture of excellence.

• Participated in national conference of Nepal Radiologists Association “RADCON 2024:Hurdles Ahead in Radiology: The Future Directions” as a national faculty and Chaired the session of Cardiac Imaging in Nepal.
• Participated as a delegate in the Malaysian Congress of Radiology 2023 and presented in “Our experience with Cardiac MRI in a tertiary health care centre in Nepal”.
• Participated as a presenter in RADCON May 6-7, 2022 “Paving the road towards radiology subspeciality in Nepal” and delivered a lecture on “Our experience with cardiac MRI in Nepal”.
• Participated as a presenter at National Conference of Cardiology on "A to Z in Heart Failure" by Cardiac Society of Nepal on 2nd April, 2022 and presented on “Cardiac MRI on Heart Failure”.
• Participated as a delegate in XIX International Congress on management of cardiovascular disease “Conquering Heart Disease in the Himalayan Region” 29-30 October 2021 and delivered a lecture on “Role of Cardiac MRI in cardiovascular Diseases”.
