Years of experience as a volunteer
I have participated in the October Saves Goalie Challenge every October for the last six years; an organization which donates money to every save you make as a goalie. While October Saves started with a focus on breast cancer, they have expanded their mission to support cancer research as a whole, including both adult and pediatric cancers. Beyond fundraising, October Saves uniquely fosters a sense of community among goaltenders, connecting them directly to the impact of their efforts. Our participants tour cancer centers, meet with doctors and witness firsthand how their saves are making a difference. In Total October Saves has raised 4.2 million dollars to Cancer research and I have made almost 3,000 of that.
Sharing Network is an organization that supports organ and tissue donation to save and enhance lives for all people in New Jersey. In May they held a 5K celebration of life run. I volunteered that day at the popcorn and concessions stand.
I recently completed my boat safety certificate and have a keen interest in fishing. I play ice hockey on a travel team and practice every week. I think that I would be a great addition to any team as I am a strong teammate already.
In my free time I also enjoy playing golf which has taught me many life skills such as patience, the ability to adapt, and the ability to grow.
