My work experiences have taught me a lot about what it takes to be a good employee. I feel like I have learned to work fast while doing a thorough job, how to complete tasks with others and by myself, and communicate with customers and fellow employees.
Working as a letter carrier has taught me a lot about time management and the importance of safety in the work place. Every day at work we are forced to complete our task in a timely manner while also avoiding hazards. Everyday there is a completely different challenge that we must overcome.
My experience as a food runner taught me what it was like to work in a fast paced work environment. I was responsible for delivering food to tables in a timely manner. On top of delivering food, I was responsible for answering any questions our customers had about the food. At the end of every shift I had to make sure my part of the kitchen was clean and orderly to be prepared for the next day.
With my time at Old Navy, I would work the cash register, sales floor, and fitting room. One of the main points of our register position was to encourage people to join our rewards program or sign up for our credit card. My sales floor duty was to assist customers with anything they needed. My job at Old Navy helped me further my customer service skills.
