  • Would Float to Adult Cardiac Unit once or twice a week as needed. Skills utilized and obtained there: Cardiac Cath Sheath removal (groin site), radial site and TR Band monitoring, administration of Cardiac drips, Central line care and medication administration, telemetry monitoring, obtaining EKG, EKG interpretation, ACLS certification, dressing care, care of MI, Afib, CABG, STEMI, Tikosyn patients.
  • Worked primarily as Pediatric RN (Charge Nurse and Floor RN) taking care of inpatient infants and children with illnesses including but not limited to: urological surgeries, tonsillectomies, RSV, pneumonia, NAS babies (drug withdrawal), recently transferred from NICU for premature birth and other maladies.
  • Skills utilized and obtained but not limited to: IV insertion, heel sticks, foley care, JP drains, oxygen administration, PALS certification and coding of pediatric patients, medication administration via all routes, close monitoring and assessing of rapidly changing patient conditions, dressing changes, cardiac monitoring via telemetry, phototherapy via BiliBed and blanket, laboratory draws via vein and Central line.

In each of these units different skills were utilized and expanded- dressing changes, Wound care, monitoring neurological changes, assisting patients with developing more independence through education and utilization of braces, prostheses, adaptive eating equipment, skin care, motor movement exercises, walkers, wheelchairs, etc.
  • Worked alongside Doctors, PT, OT & SPL therapists, Case managers, and fellow nursing staff to deliver appropriate treatment to rehabilitation patients, as well as be able to properly educate the patient and family on treatments and plan of care.
