Dynamic and detail- oriented Nurse Practitioner with extensive experience acquired through diverse clinical roles in a variety of healthcare settings. My primary background is in the acute care setting, including Advocate Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center, Wisconsin Heart and Orthopedic Hospital (Wheaton), Froedtert Hospital, Pro-Health Care (Waukesha and Oconomowoc Memorial), Elmbrook Memorial, Ozaukee (St. Mary’s), and Select Medical. I specialize in acute and chronic care within hospital medicine, cardiology, electrophysiology, orthopedics, urology, cardiothoracic surgery, emergency and trauma response, critical care (CVICU, NICU, SICU), and disaster and flight response. I am frequently acknowledged as a pragmatic professional. Over 21 years in healthcare, I have served as a Nurse Practitioner, educator, mentor, preceptor, charge nurse, emergency and trauma response team member, flight response team member, leader of trauma teams, ACLS/BLS educator, and Epic super-user. I supported the Epic system rollout and staff education as a “super-user” at Froedtert, Pro-Health, and Wheaton Health System. My wide-ranging experience and advanced education have been pivotal in high-pressure emergency scenarios. My clinical skills include placement of PICC and arterial lines, performing intubations with physician guidance, and assisting in cardiac interventions such as the placement of cardiac pacemakers, the AICD, loop monitors, peripheral stents, IABP (placement, removal, and management), chest tube placements and removals. I am trained to interpret 12 lead EKG’s, echocardiograms, lexiscans, peripheral ultrasounds, and ABIs. I have served as a surgical first assistant in CT surgery and have provided intraoperative support for liver-kidney transplants (CRRT) and rapid blood transfusions. My experience also includes management of an ECMO perfusion machine, IVTM Thermoguard XP induced hypothermia protocols, Jet ventilator, pronation beds, and neurological monitoring devices. Additionally, during my acute trauma care training, I gained a certification in wound care and traction placement.
Over my career, I have developed expertise in precision diagnostics and public speaking, fostering effective team communication and mentorship within healthcare environments. My commitment to innovative care strategies has consistently enhanced patient outcomes. Multiple supervisors have recognized my leadership skills, particularly in developing patient-centered treatment plans, guiding teams, managing complex projects, and aligning efforts with strategic objectives. I am adept at creating efficient processes that support organizational goals while maintaining high professional standards. I have been recognized for excellence through several awards, including multiple Daisy Awards, Froedtert Feathers, St. Luke’s Kudos awards, and being named Nurse of the Year in 2018 for my work on the Benzodiazapine weaning program at American Telepsychiatry. This year, I received a nomination for Best in Medicine. The numerous letters and cards from patients and families expressing appreciation are a testament to my impact, with a notable example being the 10-year anniversary with a patient who appreciated my care during a critical cardiac event. These acknowledgments remain deeply meaningful to me and are a valued aspect of my professional legacy.
