Responsible for investigating cases regarding child abuse or neglect for the State of Texas-Hidalgo County. Managed approximately 20 to 30 cases a month. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, gathering facts related to abuse or neglect, interviewing parents, interviewing children, conducting home assessments, and gathering relevant information from professional, medical, law enforcement and other relevant personnel. Responsible for extensively and thoroughly documenting and submitting cases for approval within policy timeframes. Responsible for connecting the families to community resources.

• Job responsibilities further include seeking placement for children who are removed from their parents and filling out the necessary paperwork. Responsible for reviewing and assessing placement options in the best interest of the child that is removed.
• In addition to this, also performed supervisory duties to include assigning cases, case management, sitting in on case-related staffing’s and conducting presentations to various community stakeholders and partners such as schools and other state agencies.

• As a Program Coordinator for Texas Afterschool Centers on Education (ACE) responsibilities include processing applications for the program so that students who meet criteria can participate. The program serves as a supplementary program that enhances local reform efforts as they pertain to student excellence. As a program coordinator, responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting students in meeting academic standards in core subjects by providing after school services to qualified students and their families. Responsible for engaging families and students effectively and respectfully to achieve academic goals. Further duties include identifying and implementing strategies to prevent dropouts and to recover those who have dropped out. Job duties include screening applications, interacting with students and families, ensuring that the ACE Program’s goals are carried out effectively and focusing on student advancement of their academic goals.

• Responsible for assisting teacher in preparing instructional materials, classroom displays, maintaining neat and orderly classroom, maintaining administrative records and providing assistance and orientation to substitute teachers. Further responsibilities include assisting with the administration and scoring of testing instruments and assignments. Also responsible for student management which includes, but is not limited to, conducting instructional exercises and working with individual students and groups. I would also monitor students and discuss and concerns related to special needs or specific issues with students.
• Provided support during classes, group lessons, and classroom activities.
• Provided one-on-one support for students needing additional assistance, improving their understanding of course material.
• Prepared supplementary materials for diverse learners, helping accommodate varying learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
• Contributed to a positive classroom environment by establishing rapport with students and addressing individual needs.
