Nolan Bas

I worked as a volunteer at a summer camp and helped my team run the ropes course smoothly, I worked here multiple years and won several commendations including the most professional LIT award, as well as the best activity shadow award.

While on that team I gained experience working with people, especially youths. I have:

• Led campers on safety briefings in order to make sure that none ended up injured.
• Been allowed to call transfer commands while on site.
• Talked youths through their fears in order to help them have an enjoyable time.
• Worked within the parameters of safety equipment in order to actively perform a rescue in a practice scenario .

My first official job was as a lifeguard at my local pool in Juneau Alaska. I was fully trained in order to handle the duties and responsibilities that being a lifeguard required. I worked part time for only a few years before moving to California, but I accomplished much during that time.

• Executed regular safety drills to ensure readiness for emergency situations.
• Conducted routine inspections of safety equipment to maintain operational standards.
• Educated patrons on pool rules and safety procedures to promote a safe environment.
• Responded promptly to incidents and provided first aid assistance when necessary.
• Ensured swimmer safety by vigilantly monitoring pool area and enforcing rules.
• Learned and maintained proficiency in first responder skills such as First Aid and CPR to offer individuals in distress optimal support.
