Training

-I have attended ILST (Introduction to Leadership skills for Troops). It is a day long to weekend long training event which provides basic skills to younger scouts. I have served on staff for this training as a Senior Patrol Leader and instructor on both the troop and local levels.

-I have attended NYLT (National Youth Leadership Training). It is a weeklong training event to prepare older scouts for upper leadership positions in their troops. I have served on staff for this event as kitchen staff, troop guide (Experienced scout chosen to walk participants through the course), quartermaster (Staff whose responsibility it is to ensure all gear, tools and supplies are found prepared for all activities and presentations), and SPL (A scout on senior staff who operates most of the daily activities of the NYLT course and oversees the troop guides).

-I have attended Powderhorn, a three day course intended to train scouts on how to integrate more activities and programs into their units.

-I have attended NAYLE (National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience). NAYLE is the premier scouting training experience which progresses your leadership knowledge and skills. Only about 200 scouts will complete this program every year. I completed this program over the summer nd have been nominated to staff it next summer.

Positions of Responsibility at Events

-Leadership Training staff: See training section.

-Spook-o-ree/Splash-o-ree: I have served as staff on three of these events, as kitchen staff and instructor/program area staff.

-University of Scouting: University of Scouting is an event that takes place once a year on the local level. This year I taught four courses at this event.

-Nova Academy: Nova Academy is a biannual scout science event. Last year I served on staff and taught three classes.

-Wood badge: Wood badge is the premier leadership training for adults in the scouting community. I have served on youth staff for this program twice, where I ran activities for the participants.

-Cub Scout Day Camp: Day camp is an event held over the summer for scouts in elementary school, and older scouts are invited to serve as staff, which i have six times. I have been a den chief, which guides a group of scouts through the program, three times. I have been an ASPL, which is second in command of the event. I have served as a SPL, the scout in charge of the entire camp, twice and have been invited to be SPL again this coming up summer.

-Sea Base: Sea Base is Scout's largest aquatics camp, I served as crew leader for my troop's whole contingent to sea base this year.

-National Jamboree: I was chosen to serve as the youth leader for one of the local contingents to the National Jamboree in the summer of 2023

-There are many other miscellaneous scout events where i have served as a guide or instructor.
