Truck Driver 1
Washington State University
03.2021 - Current
I have been the backup truck driver for about 7 years and the full time driver for Dining Services for 3 and a half years, and have a perfect driving record on and off campus. I have zero accidents or traffic tickets in over 35 years of having my driver's license.
I communicate regularly with other drivers and vendors that work on campus to coordinate delivery times and keep all of our work loads flowing as smoothly as possible.
Pullman always has a variety of weather conditions, and I have always safely navigated the roads, installing chains when necessary, and delivering necessary supplies without compromising safety or cargo integrity.
I have a good working relationship with all of the places I deliver food to on campus, including WSU Daycare Center, all of the dining centers and the espresso bars.
I am familiar with WSU campus, and have lived in Pullman since 1991. I have worked at Washington State University since October of 2002, when I started as a Stockroom Attendant 2 at Wilmer Davis, now known as Hillside.

I would receive food shipments from various vendors, checking what was received compared to invoices, noting damaged product or items that were missing from our delivery.
Putting away and organizing food supplies, such as dairy or refrigerated items first, frozen items second, and dry product last. I would keep chemical supplies safely away from food items to avoid cross contamination. Keeping fresh food rotated, and dated was also important, to eliminate needless waste.
I would use powered and manual pallet jacks, as well as hand trucks or carts to safely transport and store food supplies. These would be used to load or unload trucks, or move supplies into refrigerated coolers or freezers.

Receive food or merchandise from various vendors that delivered directly to the grocery store.
Use an electric forklift to move product from delivery trucks to the warehouse. I would also use powered and manual pallet jacks as well has hand carts to safely transport into and out of storage to be placed on the store shelves.
Accurately scan in all products received so that we would match what our invoices were billing us, to the product received. I would also enter into the system, new items or price changes so that items would scan properly at the cash register.
I would regularly enjoy a good working relationship with all of the vendors or customers I worked with, being both friendly, as well as proficient at my job.
