Maeve Janssen

I schedule and conduct private swim lessons with clients who want their children to improve rapidly, where I work to improve the skills of one child at a time. I network with parents, arrange meetings at different times throughout the week, and manage payment for each lesson. I engage with parents and involve them in their child's care to create the best environment for growth. I use my skills to keep the child focused and communicate the best strategies for improvement while keeping each session fun.

I independently instructed classes of up to 24 children, ages 4 to 17, at a time in competitive swimming technique and sportsmanship. I used my skills to create a fun, engaging learning environment. I helped manage and coordinate competitions hosted by my club. I worked closely with other staff on deck to ensure that all classes went smoothly and that the pool area was clean and organized. I mediated conflict with children, parents, and other employees to create a welcoming environment. I adjusted and recorded the operation of the pool's heaters, aerators, and chemical levels.

I worked with a small crew to stock, clean, and serve customers. I was trained in all available positions, including making drinks, making food, taking orders, running the window, making donuts, and running the front of house. I worked quickly to keep our order times low in an extremely fast-paced environment, and I was often moved between stations due to my proficiency.
