  • Responsible for maintaining safe and productive operation of a high H2S NGL treating facility and NGL compressor stations.

  • Company Overview: subsidiary of Johnson Matthey Plc
  • Supervised Sputtering Target manufacturing, Target R&D, quality control, clean room and shipping departments employing over 130 individuals while reporting to the Director of North American Manufacturing & Vice President Of Electronics Division.
  • Originally employed as the night shift manager over Target manufacturing, quality control and clean room was quickly considered a top candidate for the retiring supervisor for all of Target assets.
  • Oversaw the training of our new South Korean Target facilities core management/production group on North American operations which was completed one month ahead of schedule with a 100% success rate.
  • As Supervisor of North American Target Division partnered with Intel and DOD to develop a manufacturing process to achieve the desired 99% purity, ISO quality and delivery of their classified product. Successfully accomplished this using Lean Management and Manufacturing principles in addition to procuring cutting edge CNC measuring equipment.
  • Spearheaded a program to increase revenue of recycled metal waste from the production process while decreasing raw material costs. Developed a process using compaction machinery to compact metal chips from machining back into a near solid so they could be resold to our raw material supplier. During compaction coolant was expelled from the chips which was recycled back into the production process for addition savings. The aluminum and copper was a unique blend for the Target process. Negotiated with Alcoa for a contracted recycle material buy back and raw material purchase agreement which provided an annual profit increase for the department.
  • Surpassed revenue goals in four consecutive quarters even with a decline in sales due to streamlining production.
  • Initiated program that standardized employee training and led to increase in production, quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Consulted with Intel, Samsung, Panasonic, Sony, ADM and DOD to produce quality products for the electronics industry.
  • Held a security clearance with extensive background check for DOD classified material, corporate trade secrets and access to the over 30 million in gold stored at this facility.

Conductor / Hostler

  • Started as a brakeman and as soon as union rules allowed applied for conductor and hostler/engineer training.
  • Duties as a conductor were to handle logistics management on a per train basis, receive shipping manifest with delivery instructions, HAZMAT notifications, track conditions and special instructions.
  • Oversee delivery of cargo to various businesses, set-out sidings and train yards.
  • Observe that all safety and HAZMAT regulations were strictly adhered to.
  • Responsible for international border crossing documentation and assisting of border authorities in inspection of cargo if needed.
  • Communicate with dispatchers relaying and requesting all train movements, track conditions and yard entry.
  • Supervise the actions of the brakemen and engineer pertaining to these duties.
  • Assist engineer being vigilant of signals and dispatcher orders.
  • Compose and file a train log for each trip after arrival at end destination.
  • Became union safety coordinator for my local division which duties include new hire training and evaluation, random safety violation checks write recommendations for safety violation discipline and/or extended training and hold new policy workshops as necessary.
