This year, my school has introduced a red cross club, started by a high school senior, Christopher Cruz, who initiated starting a club that would aid other students in all grades to be able to obtain experience in dealing with natural events that occur within our community. The objectives of this club 1. Blood services, 2. disaster preparedness(which we just had a meeting on), service to armed forces,
Joined Lincoln Douglas debate in 2025 to enhance extracurricular involvement and develop skills for junior year. I joined debate in search for better communication skills, public speaking skills, leadership opportunities, and connections with more people. I didn't think much of anything when I joined debate, and although I didn't expect to succeed in it, I ended up workingImproved debate skills throughout the year, achieving state qualifier status by May 2026.I love public speaking, I love being in a team of people who encourage each other, and most importantly, I love being a little lawyer. This year, I ended up becoming presidentElected president of debate team, leading initiatives and fostering team collaboration until graduation in June 2027.
I volunteer and have previously volunteered at Mcallen Public library. I have helped clean up, read to children, and even worked for events in my neighborhood. The most recent one was a nature initiative that I took part in, in which me and a couple of other kids cleaned up neighborhoods. I have
I work to tutor my sisters and their friends, not for money, but just to help out the youth. I would tutor other students too, but because they are closer in proximity to me, and because I have an easier time tutoring children I know, it helps me to put all my focus on my siblings and their friends. I typically conduct tutoring every day from 7-8PM, and depending on what my siblings and I have to do, we usually have to cancel tutoring but this rarely happens. I place 1 hour aside every day to ask them questions on what they might need help with, and by using online resources like quizlet, khan academy, and google, I aid them in succeeding in whatever area they struggle in.
I began babysitting back on in Deerfield Beach, Florida in 2022. I started because I wanted a summer job that as readily available for me to do, and something that I knew I would excel at. I started off by of course just babysitting my siblings when my parents were at work. At just 12 years old, this wasn't much of a task for me because I had been doing so since I was 10. So, taking initiative, I decided that I could babysit other kids too. I worked with my grandma to babysit children at her house over the course of 3 summers by making them food, cleaning them up, making sure the environment that they were in was fun and safe, and gave them all my attention and care in case they weren't feeling good. I still currently babysit, but I only babysit close family friends.
I joined National Honor Society this year in search of more volunteering opportunities within my community and increasing my academic status a high school senior. I haven't participated in any volunteering opportunities for NHS yet, but I will be participating in trunk or treat on October 29, 2026. This will be just the beginning to my many volunteering activities of the school year for NHS.
Started engineering career in 2024. I dEnrolled in TEXPREP engineering program to gain hands-on experience and insight into engineering processes.ankfully for me, I got accepted into a program called TEXPREP, for middle and high school students who were looking to experience real engineering techniques, get an insight on what engineering looks like, and learn what occurs behind the scenes when it comes to engineering. Throughout the course of all three summers, I attended classes, Monday- Friday at 1-6PM. EveEvery summer, we had to attend TEXPREP for 4-5 weeks, and just like regular school, we received homework every day, did engineering assignments, and got quizzes and tests throughout the course of the progI graduated last year with excellentGraduated from engineering program with a 99% average.rage grade.
I competed in Lincoln Douglas Debate last year and won at the district and regional levels, allowing me to be qualified for state. I ended up placing in the top 12 for Lincoln Douglas Debate in Texas.
