Oliff Doiron

I currently work part-time as a research assistant in the Paleo² Lab within the Geosciences department. I assist with laboratory work, as well as conducting my own research.

In this brief position, I worked as a peer mentor for Clouds to the Core, an NSF-funded summer REU program. I used my experience as a current undergraduate of science to help the students in the program navigate their research at the U of A.

My tasks in this seasonal role included:

• Cleaning and sanitizing the interior of planes before departure.
• Conducting searches of planes for contraband and/or illegal items

My tasks in this role included:

• Transported merchandise to sales floor, restocked shelves, maintained and received backstock.
• Maintained a clean, organized sales floor.
• Removed damaged and discontinued items from displays.

My tasks in this role included:

• Managed returns, exchanges and refunds in accordance with store policy.
• Prepared merchandise for sales floor by pricing or tagging.
• Answered customer questions about sizing, accessories, and merchandise care.

My tasks in this seasonal role included:

• Handled cash transactions and maintained the register.
• Organized racks and shelves, greeted customers and promoted merchandise.
