For the good majority of my high school experience, i did not want to go to college because of the fear of student loans. That is until i discovered scholarships, and the realization that if i did not go to college it would result in going into construction or fast food, neither of those are what i wanted for myself.
College was rather eye opening for me because in High School you could float by and get decent grades, but High School and College are two different places and with that it taught me to put in the effort to get a good grade. I remember my first ENG 102 paper got a C and i felt so bad for myself, eventually i got myself some help and that resulted in my final paper in that class getting a B.
In the four years of me being in the work force it has taught me that being a hard worker and learning from your mistakes is the ingredients to being a good employee. I have also learned that being self aware while doing the job also helps tremendously in being a good employee.
Self awareness is one of the best skills that i have learned in the last year because it has made my life easier in so many ways. If you are not self aware you can do some really questionable things without realizing and it could lead to loads of unwanted trouble, especially related to social or legal trouble. But if you are aware of your surroundings then it is less likely that you will find yourself in sticky situations.
I have also grown from an individual angry at life to someone who has accepted their place in life. A lot of it is due to me speaking to a therapist, another part of it is my growing self awareness, And it has resulted in many positive changes. One of the changes is that i am less angry at work, another change is that i am not angry at the people who have wronged me in the past, and hopefully it results in me being a better person.
