Spent two summers at the local YMCA working with children of varying age, interest, skill, and developmental levels. Working with a very diverse group of children I had to exercise lots of problem solving, compassion, and patience to effectively provide a fun and safe environment for the children.
For this summer I helped collect data for various experiments Dr. Mark Hauber conducted on egg rejection in robin nests. Beyond collecting data I was also a co-author on the published scientific paper, The blunt pole is not a source of more salient recognition cues than the sharp pole for the rejection of model eggs by American robins (Turdus migratorius), published in the Journal of Vertebrate Biology.
