Freshman year at Boston College some like-minded friends and I started a group to play Magic: The Gathering on campus, and after petitioning with the school, we officially formed a club with a dedicated campus space and funds. Throughout three years, we grew the club from 10 to over 200 hundred members signed up and incorporated many other popular trading card games and board games. We also made sure our club was accessible as possible, with no fees or applications to join, as well as providing game materials and instruction for new players, allowing anyone to join in the fun and encouraging a social and welcoming environment.
Debated for 4 years at the national level in Public Forum, peaking in the top 50 debaters for the state of New Jersey. Additionally, my captaincy role involved attending extra practices to help prepare our first-year novice debaters for success. Currently, I help coach and judge events for Delbarton on a regular basis and have helped both varsity and novice teams win the Harvard International Debate Tournament.
