This role is enhancing my skills in patient care and interaction, and giving me valuable experience in the field of occupational therapy, with exposure to diverse therapeutic techniques.

Responsibilities

- Assisting in the cleanliness and upkeep of the facility.

- Assisting with patient exercises.

- Observing therapy sessions.

- Assisting in patient transport.

I volunteered for the Joy Club program throughout middle and high school to provide a dance experience for students with special needs in our community. I frequently served as the lead or substitute teacher when the head of our program was absent, and helped coordinate many events for our students to get involved in our dance program.

Program goals.

- Provide a safe and compassionate space for students to experience an emotional outlet through dance.

- Encourage trust and friendship between instructors, volunteers, and other students.

- Provide individual attention when needed to help students with specific skill development.
