H&M has shown me a lot of respect as an employer and has earned my respect in return. I learned a lot at H&M about what it takes to run a retail store, especially in the visual aspect of displaying products. Everything had its home on the floor but it also took a great amount of improvising to make the store look perfect. I have also polished my customer service skills by going above the call of duty multiple times a day to find the exact product that a customer is looking for. In addition, I am fluent in using store-provided resources such as looking online, checking our store's stock, and even calling other stores to ensure customer satisfaction. I have also worked in the backroom of the store by processing truck deliveries and keeping track of the backstock and inventory of the rest of the store. Overall, I enjoy helping customers every day by assisting them with identifying the perfect outfit or accessory for whatever lifestyle or occasion they see fit.
Simultaneously while working at Kohl's, I maintained a second job with the arts and crafts store, Hobby Lobby. This employer trained me in multiple aspects of the retail business. Specifically, assembling custom-frame orders, I enjoyed learning a new skill while on the job, and after just a few months of training, my framework in that department was high quality and favored by customers. I focused on accurately meeting specific customer wants and needs. In addition to framing, I assisted in the fabric department, cashiering, and happily offered professional and creative input for any projects customers had in mind.
I have offered 2.5 years of service to Kohl's department store in West Allis. During this time, I have worked as a cashier and a customer service representative, engaged with customers in returning products for Amazon, worked the sales floor in various departments, completed phone and online orders, stocked product shelves, and processed truck loads. In working in multiple positions, I have learned to make quality decisions on the fly, efficiently multitask various duties at once, and offer high-quality service to a plethora of customers from all backgrounds.
Pet World was my first employment experience. I handled cashiering, sales, stocking product shelves, and janitorial services. Each day I was needed in a different capacity based on the staffing and store needs. Organization and cleanliness were critical to providing proper care for the many animals in the store. On top of everything else, I closely studied our various product lines to understand what products were best for our customers and their cherished pets.
