Intellectual Property Law: I specialize in all aspects of Intellectual Property Law including Trademarks, Patents, Industrial Designs, Copyrights, Trade Secret, etc.

I handle trademark and patent registrations from the application stage through to the registration stage and despatch registration certificates to clients across the globe. Where the applications do not smoothly proceed to registration, I deal with and answer any Office Action/Objections that may be raised by the Trade Marks and Patents Office and handle appeals from the Registrar’s decision at the appellate court.

When trademark applications are published in the Trade Mark Journal and a third party files a Notice of Opposition against my client’s trademark application, on my client's instructions, I fight such oppositions by filing a Counter Statement and after parties to opposition proceedings settle evidence by way of Statutory Declarations, I go on to represent my client in opposition proceedings before the Trade Mark Office and up to the Court of Appeal. Equally, I have on several occasions successfully challenged and stopped the registration of trademark applications after they were published in the Trade Mark Journals.

I advise clients on the registrability or otherwise of their marks and conduct searches of prior similar/conflicting marks that may bar registration. I conduct status searches of pending and registered marks for clients' information. Equally, I advise clients on the patentability or otherwise of their inventions and the best possible ways to protect their innovations. I manage trademark and patent portfolios ensuring trademarks and patents are valid by paying renewal fees and annuities within deadlines.

I handle registration of trademark/patent assignments and mergers; advise, prepare, and review licensing and trade secret agreements, and conduct due diligence in the acquisition of Intellectual Property rights.

I have handled Trademark Infringement lawsuits before the Federal High Courts. I have also handled class actions, procured and executed Anton Pillar orders, and handled interlocutory and final appeals against judgments of the courts of first instance. Where my clients' marks were not registered or pending registration, I have instituted actions to protect my client's rights and rely on the Common Law right of Passing Off.
