Organized and patient-focused student nurse with a passion for healthcare. Possesses extensive hands-on experience across various units and is currently completing nursing studies, eager to further expand practical knowledge and skills.
I served meals to patients in their rooms and assisted with feeding when needed, turned and repositioned bedridden patients regularly to prevent bedsores, took temperature readings as instructed by the RN or MD, and provided basic patient care by taking vital signs, measuring height and weight, and recording intake and output. Additionally, I assisted patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, grooming, and dressing, helped with patient ambulation using appropriate equipment safely, answered call lights promptly, cleaned and sanitized patient rooms according to established protocols, provided comfort measures like back rubs and positioning pillows, monitored vital signs including blood pressure, pulse rate, and respiration rate, transported patients to treatment units using a wheelchair or stretcher, and responded to signal lights, bells, or intercom systems to determine resident needs, while facilitating activities of daily living, personal hygiene management, feeding, and ambulation.
As a student nurse, I honed my skills in patient assessment, vital signs monitoring, wound care, and medication administration. I provided comprehensive patient care, including personal hygiene assistance, mobility support, and nutrition management. Additionally, I offered emotional support and advocated for patients' needs. I became proficient in electronic health record (EHR) management, medical equipment operation, and phlebotomy. My communication skills allowed me to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare teams, ensuring clear and accurate documentation and patient education. I demonstrated strong critical thinking and clinical decision-making abilities, contributing to the overall quality of care provided. I also assisted with catheterization, IV insertion and management, and patient education on health maintenance and treatment plans.
I participated in team meetings, ensured proper nutrition and personal care for clients, assisted with mobility and daily activities, respected client confidentiality, performed light housekeeping, encouraged independence, ensured compliance with health care regulations, transported clients to appointments and social events, prepared meals, administered medications, provided companionship, and reported concerns to the nurse supervisor.
As a student volunteer, I cared for dogs by feeding them, administering medications, cleaning kennels, and ensuring a safe environment. I exercised the dogs, assisted with grooming, monitored their health, reported concerns, and helped with training sessions to improve their behavior and adoption chances.
My experience includes diverse clinical rotations in medical-surgical, pediatrics, obstetrics, and emergency units, complemented by active involvement in student nursing organizations where I organized events and participated in community outreach. Outside of nursing, I enjoy cooking nutritious meals, singing in a local choir, going on nature walks to unwind, and maintaining a regular fitness regimen, which includes weightlifting and yoga. I believe these interests contribute to my well-rounded perspective and ability to manage various responsibilities effectively
