• Men of Color advocates utilize a trauma informed approach to crisis intervention to establish rapport, build trust,
safety plan and ensure that the victim/witnesses are connected with services and resources.
• Men of Color advocates partner with counselors to provide additional support needed regarding services to
victims, families and secondary victims.
• Act as a liaison between victims/witnesses and the Assigned District Attorney throughout the criminal justice
process.
• Men of Color advocates aid in case enhancement by providing essential services to victims/witnesses by
developing best practices and guidance materials on engagement
• Provide in-person services at additional locations such as, hospitals, precincts, community outreach events in
coordination with Assistant District Attorneys and District Attorney Investigators.
• Present to community groups an explanation of our agency purposes, programs and policies.
• Partnered in creating a national public safety model by providing a blueprint to safeguard victims and enhance prosecution.
• The blueprint also includes prevention strategies and actionable justice related safety templates. The model is centered
around analyzing the prevention of future victimization.
• Created Cultural Humility trainings for Assistant District Attorneys.
• Developed training materials for new staff to improve onboarding efficiency and effectiveness.
