• Montgomery County Latino Restaurant Association, President, 02/01/21, Present, Organized over 60 Latino owned restaurants to give them a voice. Was vital in representing the local restaurant industry during the pandemic with policies that directly affected small local immigrant owned businesses and restaurants in general. Advocated for cooperation between local government and small business with legislation or programs that directly affect the industry. During the pandemic helped hundreds of business gain access to grants at the local and federal level.
• Wheaton Kensington Chamber of Commerce, President, 01/01/05, Present, Advocate for large, medium, and small businesses in the Wheaton & Kensington area. Helped pass legislation that would offer grants and technical assistance to small business during a redevelopment that would take away parking.
• Montgomery College Board of Trustees, Member, 01/01/20, Present, Appointed by the Governor of Maryland. Participated in the search and hiring of the new President of Montgomery College. Advocated for large contracts to be issued to county companies. Oversaw a $380,000,000/year budget. Oversaw contract negotiations.
• The UpCounty Hub, Board Member, 01/01/22, Present, Advocate for the fight against food insecurity. Volunteer to help feed over 1300 families a week. Advocate to local government for funding to feed our food insecure families. Raise funds from private donors to also help supplement the cost involved in offering the services of the organization.
• Workforce Development for Montgomery County, Chair, 01/01/18, Present, Worked hand in hand with WorkSource Montgomery to drastically increase the effectiveness of the Montgomery Workforce Development program. Advocate for diversity in staff and in programs for the community.
