• Provides supervision, care and correctional treatment of inmates. Concerned with maintenance of institution security contributing to the health and welfare of the inmates and the promotion of good public relations.
  
  Conducting urinary analysis to detect normal and abnormal finding and also conducting breathalyzers
  Supervising Inmates doing special details around facility.
  Enforces rules and regulations governing facility security, inmate accountability and inmate conduct to ensure judicial sanctions are carried out and inmates remain in custody. From time to time, may be authorized to carry firearms and to use physical force, including deadly force, to maintain control of inmates.
  
  During institution emergencies or other periods of heavy workload or limited staff, may be required to work long and irregular hours, unusual shifts, Sundays, holidays and unexpected overtime.
  Locating inmates for other areas of the correctional facility
  Running two housing units at once while also watching inmate movement on both sides and controlling movements on the compound . Searching inmate living quarters daily and making sure housing units are in good standing. Giving orders to inmates and also answering questions they may have. supervising over 200 inmates at once divided into two housing units maintaining the daily log while also conducting rounds irregularly and giving inmate access to go to their daily programs . conducting searches of general areas and making sure there no security breaches in the dorm . Visual searching inmates entering visitation room and leaving conducting rounds ensuring all policy and procedures are being followed
• Performed head counts, checking cells for missing inmates.
• Responded to emergency situations such as riots or disturbances with appropriate force
• Conducted fire, safety and sanitation inspections.
• Enforced prison rules and regulations while maintaining a safe environment for inmates and staff.

• Supervises male inmates commensurate with the level of risk they present. Manages inmate housing areas, enforces rules and sanitation standards. Transports inmates using approved restraints and observing relevant laws, policies and procedures. Conducts accurate head counts, maintains custody and control over inmates at appointments outside the secured perimeter and escorts inmates within the secured perimeter. Inventories personal property of inmates and issues receipts.
  
  
  
  Performs crisis intervention functions to include, but not limited to, subduing or restraining violent or uncooperative inmates, defending persons against attack, and preventing escapes, using approved deadly or non-deadly force, restraints or other approved methods. Required to wear body armor and use weapons. monitoring inmates meal time. Maintains facility security. This includes performing searches of inmates and other persons. This includes the visual inspection of body cavities and possible exposure to body fluids. Responsible for checking inmate mail and/or packages for contraband. Observes inmate behavior to identify inmates exhibiting mental or emotional disorders. Uses counseling techniques or referral action, as outlined in written policies or guidelines. Conducts inspections and visual and audio surveillance of persons, property, vehicles, building and outdoor areas. Physically checks doors, windows, gates, barred sections, fences and other areas to ensure proper security. Provides emergency assistance during emergencies, disasters and accidents to include but not limited to, CPR, first aid, apprehension of escaping or escaped inmates, implementation of evacuation procedures, provides security of inmates and/or areas in accordance with the emergency situation.   Directs Correctional Officers in supervising inmates in housing units and those segregated for administrative or punitive measures. Directs Correctional Officers in checking inmate mail for possible contraband, and in supervising inmates working on work details both inside and outside the fenced perimeter. Directs Correctional Officers in maintaining master inmate location counts and directs the entire operation of the Control Room or the Main Gate. Ensures that all transportation permits are completed accurately and signed by the appropriate authority. Directs Officers in preparing reports such as special progress, minor work, disciplinary and/or incident reports.

  Riot Control, Deployed to other Institutions to control contraband ,Mass Searches ,undergoing special training for riot control and on call 24/7 for emergencies
  Training new officers on policy and procedure ,also how to conduct themselves as new officers around offenders. conducting security checks making sure no inmate is harming or escaping
  Special Housing Sergeant conducting rounds every 30 mins , with inmates who cant be in general population for discipline or administrative reasons , controlled feeding and giving them phone calls and recreation when instructed to do so. Passing out mail to offenders and answering any questions according to policy and procedure. Maintiang order in the housing unit
  Compound Sergeant: In charge of every dorm plus maintaining order of inmates , escorting inmates from housing units to chow hall or oic office , escorting inmates outside the secure gates verifying the correct inmate leaving . training officers and also assisting officers who need guidance or help , conducting numerous of counts with accuracy. supervising over a 1000 inmates with good order, giving clear directions to inmates on what and what they are not allowed to do
  Rear Gate sergeant: Veryfing workers who works at outside insitution grounds, veryfing all employees who enter through the gate , searching inmates and employees who come through the gate and inspect any tools or equipment that they may bring.
  searching may vehicles that come on the compound such as food delivers, maintenance trucks , outside contractors or even laundry carts to make sure no contraband is leaving or coming isnide and no inmates escaping
