Intern

StandWithUs Kenneth Leventhal High School Interns
08.2022 - 05.2023

The StandWithUs Kenneth Leventhal High School Internship is a year-long program for student leaders in 11th and 12th grade who want to proactively impact their local schools and communities. Leventhal Interns learn about Israel, how to effectively combat antisemitism, and gain leadership skills, then bring this education to their peers.

  • Attended Zoom calls once a month with my region to learn about different topics about Israel or antisemitism.
  • Attended one-on-one monthly meetings with my regional manager.
  • Created four interactive and creative programs across different platforms to bring this education and knowledge to my peers.
  • Attended two leadership conferences in Los Angeles throughout the school year, hearing from world-renowned speakers, building relationships with other student leaders, and training with StandWithUs staff members.

Counselor

Machane B'Yachad

Volunteering

Counselor, August 2020 - Current

Israeli Scouts of Arizona (Tzofim) - Scottsdale, AZ

A non-profit organization in which local Israeli high school students meet for four hours every Sunday and conduct two-hour educational and fun activities for Israeli-American children from grades 1st-9th.

  • In my first year, I was a 2nd and 3rd grader counselor alongside my co. I learned to communicate with little kids and form relationships with them, mentoring them, implementing values, and strengthening their identity as Israeli-American individuals.
  • In my second year, I was a 7th and 8th grader counselor by myself, as well as the director of the 1st and 2nd grader group. I was responsible for managing a group of three counselors and guiding them in the process of making creative content and delivering it efficiently. Attended weekly meetings with the Director of the chapter and planned community events, as well as reflected on our progress and adjusted accordingly.
  • Currently, I am a 7th-grader counselor by myself, and the head and executor of a new program called, Shnat Mitzvah, which is a program for 12 and 13-year-old boys and girls who are celebrating their Bar/Bat Mitzvah in this year. The program provides meaningful experiences while assimilating leadership values, entrepreneurship, social involvement, and strengthening the family bond.
  • Participated in more than five leadership seminars and conventions with members from other chapters all over the West Coast.
  • Over 1000 hours of volunteering in the organization since 2020.
