I grew up in a working class family where I learned that I need to work hard to achieve my goals. I found inspiration in helping others and trying to change my community. I try to translate my desire to change my neighborhood in getting my bachelors of architecture and eventually work in housing projects. I completed my general education at CCSF to then transfer to UC Berkeley. I am trying to get experience in urbanism and sustainability to be able to create a harmonic environment for the public. I am also interested in social issues and movements. I find culture and the diversity of experience and background basic for personal growth.
As an intern I needed to collaborate with other interns to present proposals in different topics. We had to prepare sketches and draft ideas related to construction.
We had to create slide presentations to show our understanding in constructions topics. We also has seminars and workshops about construction and design.
As an intern at ACE mentor, I had the opportunity to learn the basics about construction trades and how an architecture firm operates. I participated in workshops and seminars about the construction process and diverse opportunities around universities.
