Summary

Enrolled and competed in Gymnastics from 2009 to 2020. Stopped competing due to Covid-19, but during that time I was an assistant coach to the little kids during Summer Camp. Had the ability to teach new skills, spotted, and led stretching and conditioning warmups. Developed more leadership skills during my high school years. As a junior, I have started my school's student newspaper and am an editor-in-chief. Previously, I co-clerked the student literary magazine and started a creative writing club where we gave a writing lesson to the kindergarten classes. I have volunteered as a peer tutor at my high school to help a middle school student organize their classes. I serve on my school's Dean's Advisory Council, focusing on renewing harm within the community. This has taught me collaborative skills, empathy, and active listening. I have done two pre-college programs at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and one at Brown. University in Rhode Island over the last three Summers. These programs have taught me dedication for an intended passion, hard work, and persistence. I recently attended the Student Diversity Leadership Conference where I could engage in different perspectives, and conversations revolving around systematic change, and the power of education. I serve on my school's JEDI council, where we discuss inclusivity and equity practices. I'm currently part of my school's CAPPIES program that celebrates high school theater by writing reviews for different shows around the PA area.
