On a daily basis, I write two one-hour newscasts and one half-hour digital newscast that air on the local Telemundo Miami channel, newscasts that during my time on the job have gone from being a high impact channel in the Hispanic community, to repeatedly challenging and winning first place over historically leading newscasts in the time slot, such as English-language newscasts.

I was fortunate to work as a writer for the 5 and 6 AM local newscasts of Univision Miami, the pioneer and leader at that time of that news slot on local Hispanic television. These newscasts were rebroadcast nationally by the Telefutura network.

As a producer at SOITV, I was in charge of researching and selecting news and current affairs information to produce with the team of reporters and news anchors. I wrote some of these news stories and packages and sometimes did the voice over.

I was a news editor for the national newscast of the Telemundo network, historically established as one of the two major Hispanic television networks. In those years, Telemundo was increasing its presence among Spanish-speaking viewers to become the number one Hispanic television network that it is today. As a news writer for Telemundo's network, I had the responsibility to use a neutral and universal Spanish that would easily reach the entire Hispanic community, from coast to coast, despite the linguistic differences between Spanish-speaking countries.

As a news writer and associate producer, I was part of one of the winningest news teams in Hispanic television in the United States. The local Univision channel in Miami was undoubtedly for years the first in the 6 p.m. slot Monday through Friday, regardless of language.

• Coordinated with a group of ten producers, reporters and anchors, the creation of program content, new ideas and segments.
• Planned with producers, cameramen and reporters the video recordings in studio and remotely, managing the production in stages until completion.
• Pitched new ideas and arranged interviews and acquisition of footage for stories.
• I was in charge of creating and writing the headlines for “Al Rojo Vivo”.
