I have been in the Army National guard for 3 years serving as an infantryman. In that time I have learned skills such as combat and reconnaissance patrolling, combat first aid techniques, advanced marksmanship techniques, and have been certified at the small arms weapons expert course. In addition I have gone to various schools focusing on specific weapon systems and their intended employment on a battlefield. I have done training rotations at JRTC and NTC. Both of which are the army’s premier training locations for large scale combat simulation operations. During the COVID-19 epidemic I served at several different hospitals across the state with most of my time being at ASANTE in Medford. I was chosen to be the representative of the entire ASANTE mission by the adjutant general of the Oregon National Guard.
