  • I started out in Onslow County Schools as a third grade reading tutor and then moved to a fifth grade interim substitute position after graduation in December 2013.
  • In 2014, I became a third grade teacher where I taught third grade for three years. I am very familiar with Read to Achieve and the Beginning of Grade and End of Grade Testing.
  • In 2017, I became a first grade teacher. I taught first grade for three years.
  • During my time in first grade, I was the grade level chair for the first grade team of nine teachers and three assistants for two years. I was responsible for ensuring the team stayed on track with assignments, due dates, collaborative planning meetings, data teams meetings, lesson plans, rotations, schedules, and many other small daily task.
  • I served as the data teams leader for the first grade team where I facilitated planning meetings with my team, who each had assigned roles. We created pre and post test assessments in math to use collaboratively. District spreadsheets were used to input data, a leveled system is used to determine proficiency, and Marzono's High Yield Strategies were used in our individual and small group instruction based on the data findings from team meetings.
  • Taught lessons encompassing skill-building and team building activities in collaborative groups in reading, writing, math, and unit studies.
