Lab Information System Manager/Skills Lab Coordinator- duties included assisting nursing First, Second, and Third Level Faculty in Health Assessment and Nursing Skills Laboratories with e.g. head-to-toe assessments, Mock Codes/ACLS, dysrrhythmia recognition and treatment, urinary cath insertions, IV therapy, care of PICC Lines, Implanted Ports, central line catheters, performing sterile/aseptic wound care, trach care, suctioning, medication administration, injections, and all other First through Third Level nursing skills; performed skills check-offs, as well as one-on-one training and remediations; coordinated student orientation with area hospitals (Palestine, Tyler, Athens, Crockett and other contracted facilities); set-up and operation/management of laboratory equipment e.g. manikins specifically for Wound Care, Implanted Ports, Trach Care, Enemas, Injections, NGT Insertions, Foley Insertions, Suture/Staple Removal, etc. Supply inventory/ordering; review/order new media for faculty review/program implementation; set-up computer/AV equipment; develop and present programs/PowerPoint presentations to meet need of area community services e.g. Long Term Care Facilities to meet State requests/requirements for continuing education. Coordinate recruiting opportunities/luncheon with area facilities/hospitals. Participate in Faculty Meetings, Nursing Christian Association, Student Nurses Association meetings. Accepted to Masters Degree Nursing Program at UT at Tyler.
