  • Provided comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnoses to a diverse population of veterans in outpatient clinics and dual diagnosis residential treatment programs (RRTP). Initially as an outpatient provider in the Gainesville VA for 8 years providing individualized psychotherapy and psychopharmacologic medication management in addition to inpatient groups and outpatient groups (Clozapine). Transitioned to a year in PRRC (Psychosocial Rehabilitation Recovery Center) as a provider in an outpatient day program for dual diagnosis. My next position took me to Lake City, FL (still in VISN 8) where I filled a split position; 50/50 outpatient and residential treamtment. Most recently, I function int the role of 'Attending' for an 18 bed residential/dual diagnosis prgram and provide coverage for other NP's in psychiatry. I practice independently within the guidelines of the VA directives for an expanded APRN role. My primary role responsibilities cover admission screenings, admissions and discharges (covering the medical, psychiatric and substance abuse facets of each admission).
