Stage Hand
During my time at UTP Productions, the work involved a significant amount of physical effort and precision. We were tasked with setting up intricate stages and sophisticated lighting for renowned artists like Dustin Lynch, Gary Allan, and Clint Black. These artists' crews were instrumental in guiding us, ensuring we understood the specific requirements for configuring the stage to match the artist’s vision. As a stagehand, adhering to instructions with meticulous care was crucial. My crew and I received high praise from the various teams we collaborated with, which was incredibly rewarding. Additionally, we had the opportunity to set up the lighting equipment for the Rodeo in Waco, Texas, a endeavor that required not only strength but also teamwork. Much of the lighting gear was heavy and designed to be handled by at least two people, ensuring both the safety of the equipment and ourselves. The experience was demanding yet immensely fulfilling, highlighting the importance of cooperation in achieving a successful event. This position is not a full-time commitment. Instead, I will engage in union work that typically spans about 1 to 2 weeks, occurring once or twice a year. During these brief stints, my involvement will be limited to just a few days, strategically spread out over the course of that period. While the job may not be extensive, I anticipate that these engagements will offer valuable experiences and opportunities for growth in the future.
