I am honored to share that I have been a seasoned welcome desk and fitness monitor employee since fall of sophomore year. As welcome desk employee, I greet members upon arrival and carry a good disposition. I also help fellow Holy Cross members regarding issues such as equipment and recreational activities. I assist closing shifts, ensuring weights are on their respective racks and facility is in safe, optimal condition, writing up any necessary reports. As fitness monitor, I ensure that facility and gym equipment is in optimal condition and follow the same protocol for closing shift. I actively scan and clean equipment during my shift. Besides my experience working on campus, I have work experience at Agawam Country Club in Rhode Island since summer of 2023. In the country club, I wear many hats. In other words, I run different positions throughout the day to ensure that events inside and outside the clubhouse run smoothly. At the clubhouse, I am a server, hostess, food runner, and event setup coordinator. My positions change throughout the day depending on the clubhouse occasions such as weddings, babyshowers, tennis tournament dinners, concerts, birthdays and more. Overall, serving the country club requires someone who is detail-oriented, hospitable, communicative, and focused amidst the high-demanding, fast-paced environment. I love the Jo. Cheesy enough, the Jo is the place where I have met incredibly talented people who I am proud to say have become my closest friends. Serving the recreational community parallels my interests in serving the wider community after graduating from the Hill. I am interested in fitness and neuroscience and I am motivated to help and research athletes, veterans, and the elderly on acute concussions upon graduating. My interests in fitness is also part of my own lifestyle as I workout regularly at the Jo. The Jo is genuinely such a great environment to be in and is a commonplace for students like me to decompress. I am grateful to represent the Holy Cross community through serving at the Jo while also living health and fitness showing up and working out.
