Rice Price Determination and Market Tendency Projection

  • This project determines the global rice price trend (by FAO and USDA data), creates projections for rice price in the next ten years, and implements different scenarios to distort the rice market.
  • The result shows that any disruption in the considerable importing countries' currency exchange rate, such as Iran, could drastically impact the global rice market.
  • The model of the study is Arkansas Global Rice Model (AGRM)

Cost effectiveness study of tax credit of “Refined Coal” facilities

  • This project studies the cost-effectiveness of the tax incentive policy of the American Job Creation Act 2004 subjected Refined Coal facilities.
  • The case brief shows that the tax credit is not cost-effective, does not improve social welfare, and has some rebound effect on other pollutants.
  • Some of the reasons are the testing problems, policy targets, capping.

Feasibility Study in Arkansas Wine Industry, Production and Marketing

  • This project uses mathematical optimization programming to minimize the cost of farming per the wine industry's vines and not the manufacturing part.
  • The Opportunity and Enchantment grape wines have been chosen due to yield and environmental dominant. Also, this project offers different methods of cultivation to avoid the limitation of excessive slop lands.
  • The result showed that the cost of boosting the wine industry in Arkansas significantly decreased the state unemployment rate.

Risk assessment of the COVID-19 outbreak for the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games

  • This project simulated the R0, IFR, and the likelihood of getting COVID probability of three different sample groups to predict the infection ratio and fatal ratio during the Tokyo 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
  • The world average, Japan, and the three countries (the US, The EU, and China) with the highest number of athletes in the Olympics are the sample groups.
  • The result shows that prevention policies have a significant role in reducing infection and death percentage during the event's 14 days.
  • @Risk Excel add-in has been used in this study to estimate the risk.
