Leadership Experience

Springs Rescue Mission, Colorado Springs, CO, Fundraiser and donor, 08/2020, 03/2021, Coordinating a community giving project to relieve the effects of the homeless population during a pandemic was very important to the community. Raising $1240 and 1080 tangible items by starting fundraisers at school even when 80% of the student body was doing online school. The donations came from a competition partnered with our school coffee shop that whichever class donated the most food, got a free drink punch card from the coffee shop. This incentivized others to donate and made an impact on the community. I was awarded by Springs Rescue Mission a Community Champion Award for the large volume of monetary and tangible donations. Upon receiving the award, the coordinator gave a tour of the facilities and showed how the donations were being used which was super rewarding to see it in action.
