Economic Conditions & Crime Across U.S. States

• Collaborated on the development of a 51-observation state-level dataset in Excel, compiling economic, demographic, crime, and institutional data from multiple sources to examine relationships between economic conditions and crime across the U.S.
• Built and evaluated OLS regression models using hypothesis testing, F-tests, correlation analysis, VIFs, and robustness checks; identified poverty as a statistically significant predictor in a model explaining approximately 43% of cross-state variation in crime rates.
