Job summary:

• Support the daily needs of other production associates. Ensure the safety and productivity of department.

Essential job responsibilities:

• Always maintain a safe and clean work environment
• Be able to interact with all associates Understand daily functions and ensure safe production and assign area.
• Record all essential information on proper forms for production area.
• Read and understand production schedule.
• Leading assist in TPM activities.
• Lead daily startup meeting.
• Ability to operate forklift and crane
• Train line associates in safety quality and productivity.

Additional job responsibilities:

• Assist with repairs of equipment and department.
• Assist with inventory
• Support die trials
• Coordinate reinspection/ repair of parts
• Complete cross-training assignments as needed

Operation of extruders

• Extruder die and knife plate set up.
• Input and verification of correct set points.
• Quality checks to ensure the product meets Mars standards for product size, shape, appearance, and quality weight.
• Documentation of competed quality check and findings.
• Troubleshooting out of spec product. And making necessary adjustments to bring quality back into spec.
• Troubleshooting faults and inoperable machinery. And communicating findings with maintenance to help facilitate repairs.
• Follow food safety guidelines to mitigate cross contamination. And to ensure food safety.
• Follow 5s principles and practices.
• Follow CIP guidelines for area working in. This includes cleaning and daily PMs
• Follow PM schedule and complete tasks and filing necessary documentation.
• Keep an eye out for abnormality’s and reporting them when found to corresponding department for correction. Or in some cases fixing the abnormality and filing the appropriate documentation.

Flavor enhancement

• Verification of dryer and all other flavor enhancement equipment set points.
• Quality checks to make sure product met Mars standards for weight, size, shape, look, moisture content, fat content, protein content, along with ash, fiber activity water content, and gelatin percentage using NRI scanner. Documentation of completed checks.
• Troubleshooting out of spec product and making necessary adjustments to equipment.
• Communicate with extrusion department when adjustments to product were needed on their end.
• Coordinate with team lead, shit management and QC when out of spec product was found.
• Troubleshooting faults and inoperable machinery then coordinating with maintenance to facility repair.
• Sort and delegate location of waste/ recyclable material. Documentation of amount and type of said material.
• Meet with incoming shift personnel and report current shifts down time, equipment and product concerns in order to facilitate an informed and smooth shift transition.
• Follow lab environment safety and cross contamination procedures.
